New for August 2010:
August 2010: How
to Divorce Your Lawyer
What
do you do if your current lawyer isn't working out for you? Replace him or keep him on
board?
If you think that the answer is to keep him on board, then you are a candidate for a
lobotomy because you don't know how to choose wisely. Recently I had a
woman come to see me about her current attorney. If she asked him questions
about her case, he would ask her "don't you trust me?" or
"you don't need to know I will handle that for you."
The lady wrote me an e-mail in which she went into detail concerning his abuse
of her. Yet she wasn't sure that she should fire him. Now if this case was only
a year old I wouldn't be concerned as I was, but it was six years old and she had spent
almost $350,000.00 in Attorneys fees. I was shocked, because they had no minor
children to argue about, they were only concerned with the the division of
property. A rather mundane and simple process and not worth what she had spent
on it thus far. I spoke with her on the phone and met her in person for a
one-on-one meeting in my office. We talked for about a hour before she left, without making
up her mind to change lawyers. This isn't unusual considering that this type of
thing goes on all the time. Instead of putting in a new pitcher she
would rather stay with the scumbag that she has and do you want to know why?
Because by doing so she can tell her sad tale of woe to everyone who will
listen to her rather than actually make a change. This isn't as rare as you
would imagine. Actually quite a few people would rather fight than switch, to
borrow a tag line from an old time cigarette manufacturer. Which brings us
to this months rant - when do I get out of this mess? If this is you
then click on this months article and read it. You might discover an answer to your problem.

Updates: Our Expert
Witness Service
An expert witness
is someone who possesses special training or experience that enables the trier
of fact (jury or judge) to ascertain something that is beyond their skill or
experience. Which simply means that the judge or jury lacks the special
training or education to determine the truth or falsity of a particular issue. This can mean
someone like an attorney or doctor who has special training and experience or a
mechanic that has special experience is called upon to assist them in reaching
their verdict. There is no limit to the type of
experience that can be treated as a specialty. My special training is in the practice
of law that coupled with my over 28 years of experience gives me the ability to
hold myself out as an expert witness. A mechanic may be qualified as an expert
because of their training and experience as well.
When will you need
an expert witness? You will probably need an expert witness when you decide to
look into whether or not your previous attorney committed malpractice. For
example, did your previous attorney not listen to your needs? Did they ignore
presenting evidence that was important to your case? Did they fail to
prepare themselves and you adequately for trial? If they did, and you feel that
you have been damaged by their negligence, then you are entitled to compensation
for their negligence. You will need to contact a malpractice attorney that will
handle the case for you. In addition, you will need an expert witness to testify
at trial that your previous attorney was negligent. To read about this

News:
We Are Proud to Announce the Latest
Addition to the Firm. Our Newest Junior Partner in Training, PRESLEY OWEN
ROBINSON.
On November 22,
2006 Presley Owen Robinson was born to my son Anthony Christopher Robinson and
his wife Amanda Robinson. It is official that I am now a grandfather and
very honored to have such an awesome addition to our family. To say that I am
proud of this latest addition to our family would be an understatement. All of
us are very happy and overjoyed to welcome Presley to our family, and to give
recognition to all the hard work his Mom, Amanda went through to bring this
bundle of happiness into the world.
Looking at him you
can tell that as soon as he wakes up, he is ready to let the world know that he
is here. I don't know whether or not he will want to be a lawyer, but if
he does, I want him to know that I will be proud to help him become one if that
is what he wishes to be. As a colleague of mine said, " Presley Owen
Robinson, sounds like a lawyer or Judge. With such a regal name, he will be a
force to be reckoned with." I couldn't have said it better myself. But if he
doesn't, we will love him, understand him and support his decision whatever that
may be. To see him click on
