FAMILY LAW CASES:

Divorce and Family Law Cases:

A Divorce or Family Law Case does not have to be the nightmare of legend. In fact most cases are really unexciting. They would never  even make it on the Jerry Springer show. These cases are about dividing up pots and pans, mending a broken heart and moving on to new relationships.  Most of the really terrible cases are  that way because of the decisions that the parties made during their relationship. The good news is that with a few rare exceptions, it just doesn't have to be that way.

Prejudice Against Fathers Having Custody:

Many fathers feel that there is a bias against men having Primary Physical Custody in Family Law Cases.  While the reality is that they are somewhat correct, it is not the case in our office. We want to make it perfectly clear that our office represents both men and women without a bias for or against either sex.

No Prejudice Against Anyone:

Each case is always evaluated on its own merits. We tailor our representation to the facts of each  case, the law and your ability to finance the case. We represent each client to the best of our abilities and  without regard for their gender, sexual preference, race, color, creed, religion or lack of religion, national origin or any other similar factor. We do not make a distinction if you are gay or straight, male or female, or use any other artificial criteria.

Since Family Law is such a large field, I have divided the field up into smaller, more manageable areas of interest. You may access more specific information by clicking on an appropriate button to the left. As always, if you cannot find what you are looking for, feel free to make a no obligation phone call to (626) 797-5001.

Your Rights:

While you do have an absolute right to be represented by an attorney at all stages of  any litigation, it is up to you to secure and pay for that attorney. Obviously any action that effects your right to, custody and visitation with your children, child and spousal support, and division of property,  requires the services of an experienced attorney. Many people who foolishly think that they are capable of handling their own case, live to regret their decision later on.

Your Responsibilities:

While you can always represent yourself, you should be aware that even lawyers hire other lawyers to represent them in divorce cases. When you are emotionally involved in a case you simply don't make the best  decisions. You need an attorney  in your corner who is emotionally neutral and will  tell you the truth about your situation. You may not like what they have to say, but you will have the confidence that they are telling you the truth. You will know your rights and you can make better decisions affecting your children's and your future.

 Our Capabilities:

We handle  all aspects of Family Law and Divorce litigation from the very simple matters to very complex litigation. In addition, we have the capability to provide extensive expert  litigation support  to any Family Law matter. This capability  includes the services of expert witnesses such as Forensic Accountants, Psychiatrists and Psychologists, Private Investigators, Counselors, Pension Appraisers and Other Experts as necessary.

We can also provide access to  DNA Paternity testing, Psychological Testing, Child and Spousal Support evaluation, Child Custody Evaluations, Pension, Real and Personal Property Appraisals, Investigations  and Asset Tracing. Obviously not every case needs these services, nor can every client afford such service. However, we want our clients to know if the need arises we can provide those services.

We can provide Ex-parte, Emergency or Short Notice Court appearances when necessary.  Our experience, coupled with our extensive computerized  litigation  support library capability, enables us to initiate or react to almost any  emergency or Ex-parte  Court Appearances  very quickly. We are not afraid to burn the midnight oil to make sure that you have an experienced trial lawyer in your corner, who  is prepared to  fight for you the very next morning  if it is necessary.

In my office we will go to whatever lengths that are ethical and legal to protect your rights. We have a reputation for being as tenacious as bull dogs when we are on a case. We don't give up until you tell us to. Obviously extraordinary efforts cost more, but in an appropriate case it can be well worth it. I  want you to know that in these types of unusual cases, we make special efforts to make sure that you are fully informed about the cost factors before we commence any aspect of your case. There are no surprises later on, you know from the beginning what it will cost.

We also  utilize  the very latest in computer technology, featuring the very same computer programs used by the local Courts, which gives you the same information that the Court will use in setting support. We generate almost all our Family Law forms filed with the Court on computer, which reduces the errors and time it takes to complete the paperwork. All legal research is done with the aid of computers. You save both money and time.

Our clients are truly our partners in the preparation of their cases. We  involve them extensively in the investigation, preparation and presentation of their cases. This means our clients are better informed, better prepared, and more realistic as to the probable outcome of their cases. Whenever practical, they also usually save money on their cases by doing some of the simpler tasks themselves. It give you the best of both worlds, an experienced  attorney and a savings in costs. Call us for a no obligation initial consultation at (626) 797-5001, you won't be sorry that you did.
